Hoosiers! Major League! Fielder's Choice! Yup, we got all the difficult questions answered. Unfortunately, we weren't nearly that sharp to start the fall season. We dropped out first game to a team we should have handled by giving up seven runs in their last at bat (didn't hurt that we only scored six total runs). Second game, featuring our opponents flops-a-lot shortstop, went much more smoothly as we ten-runned them in four at bats. (.493 team average). Craig hit the first fall dinger (our only dinger) and yup, Grant is up on top of the batting averages. Bets anyone?

2-2

(from Dan) Expect to expect the unexpected.

Game 1 was a breeze as we doubled them up by 20-10 score or so. Solid fielding and hitting all around despite being deprived of our #2 pitcher and #1 catcher. No problems as the pregame 5 at the Hogger took advantage of the $40 special and some nice eye candy.

Game 2. Up by 9 in the 5th, runners on, kicking ass. No problems, right? WRONG! In one of the best games of the year, we unfortunately lost after surrendering a chance to 10 run this rag tag bunch of rowdy cowboys. We lost the lead and then went down by 3 in the 9th. Very close play at home with Tschak applying a nice tag, but the call was not there for us. Ended up losing by one run after a feverish comeback. Great game to watch and play. Even record at 2-2 on the year. I think that we'll win the rest. Time for a repeat championship.

Well, at least we've always got one good game in us each week, right? The full squad showed up and took game one (even though it seemed like we were outhit). We had a good shot at game two taking a lead into the third inning, but our error parade coupled with scoring no runs in our last four at bats doomed us to defeat. (.377 team average... ouch!)

5-3

Well, we finally won two for a week... with two forfeits by our opponents. We did play one fun one (at least for a scrimage) against Danny and Lee. Not sure who won, but Keith just might have broken out of his slump with three dingers. I assume more fun was had cheering on Brad Childress to his first win, but I wouldn't know... I went home. Do forfeits help build momentum? Sure. Why not? Let's keep the winning streak going next week! And, like the Steeler's receiving their Super Bowl rings... we got our T-shirts! It official... Fall 2005 champs!

(from Castillo) I assume everyone hoped for a rainout so we could watch Monday Night Football, but that didn't happen. Surprisingly, everyone came on time (except Dan, of course) to make their case to lead off. In the end, and after 50 emails, Dar led off to a stellar 1,2,3 first inning. Despite the slow start, the seeds played solid defense, coupled with a lot of flat pitches for home run outs as we took the first game handily (insert score here). (Balco) Keith came up big as he homered in his first two at bats. The second game was more of the same. Lots of timely hitting, some nice defense and a team that wanted to flip flop as the home team to get it over with. In the end, despite a drizzle, it was a wash. More importantly, the Seeds supported the Hogger with a good turnout. Actually, I think we were the only people there. Many started out the evening with the free tacos while Dan led the challenge for next week - pancake eating contest. We're riding the 4 game win streak to the last week. Don't forget your snow shoes and parka for next week's game. (.500 team average)

(coming soon from our fearless Captain) Whether it was the tempting taco bar, or that everyone realized we are done after this week, but something brought 10 out of 12 playas to the bar. For the most part we ate on the light side and this may have played a vital role in the late rounds of the evening. After a pregame snap shot, we took the field (despite our disappointment with who was calling strikes and balls). In game one our sticks had enough pop to eek out a close one, and defensively we have not played this well for the entire year. Caveman was a solid as a rock and he added to his MVP status with impressive plate appearances throughout the night. Game two was a whole lot of the same on defense, however our stat book looked more black than white as nearly everyone got in on the hitting and scoring extravaganza. Keith's intimidating look drew an intentional walk, and we repaid the favor to that little bitch they called a pitcher. Seriously, what kind of jerk-off pitches to you as soon as you enter the box? Lesson learned. Even if your a bad team, you can still have a cock on your squad (to his credit - he jacked one that went about 320'). Game-Set-Match... and the Hoggers end the season with 4 straight victories. So at the end of what were two fun filled seasons we learned a few things.... 1. We belong in the D league 2. We can not take any team lightly 3. Hitting is contagious 4. Dan will not pitch until 2009 5. Deibert is in the first tier for speed, and the separation from top-bottom is not as large as one would think 6. We can't wait to kick off the 2007... hopefully not at B-Dale. Have a good winter and we'll gather the fellas at Suki's for a TWINS playoff parade (.493 team average tonight)
