West Coast Playoffs
First and foremost, I have loved watching the Minnesota sports teams in the playoffs. But, what's going on with playing all these West Coast opponents? First, the Twins versus Oakland and Anaheim. Then, the Timberwolves versus Los Angeles. Then, the Wild versus Colorado, Vancouver (had to look at a map for that one) and now Anaheim. Heck, with this luck, the Viking's (let's do hope they make the playoffs though) will be playing some expansion Honolulu franchise in the first round.
Why is this a complaint? Because these late night games ("Westers" as I've started referring to them) are killing me. Plus, the games are so tight that I'm so riled-up when they're over that I stay up for at least another hour of post-game wrap-up. I'm a walking zombie at work (unless anyone wants to talk about the previous night's playoff game, then I'm fired-up again). I guess that's the price we pay to spend all of our nights (and Sundays in the fall) watching sports. Yes, it's a tough life.
As a side note, I think I also have some related "corn-fed mid-America doesn't get its proper respect and that's why our games are always scheduled so late (or on back-to-back nights)" complaint but I haven't fully worked it out.
Oh well bring on the caffeine and let's hope they win the championship!
