Well, our opponents were basically a bunch of Deibert Jrs. Last fall I said we played our toughest opponent, well, I stand corrected after tonight's match. Jump serves, ten footers, and hits that cleared out block are what we saw all night. There were moments where we were competitive, but also moments where I found myself muttering "this isn't very fun" under my breath. Yeah, I can't wait to play them again in March. I'm sure Natalie wishes she just would have went straight to broomball, but she does take home Monster honors for her sacrifice. Thanks!

Photo Hunt, Chug Monkey, Tricky Fish, Ink Rally, getting our menus in a timely fashion, actual volleyball... we were just off our game(s). At the very least, I hope "Girls Night" was a success. We were sluggish and flat-footed as we, for the second week in a row, were beat-up by a quality opponent. For what it's worth, we got our two toughest opponenents out of the way for awhile (at least I hope so!). Time to get back on track as a team, make some awesome plays, and have some fun.

Sudden Impact
Well, we didn't get the totally domination we were hoping for in only going 1-2 against a familiar short shorts opponent, but it was nice to again be part of a slightly more competitive match. We had great plays and streaks, including awesome setting that earned Bic the Monster honors, but also were a bit unfocused, heavy-footed, and gave up some runs. Course, we did "destroy" photo hunt, we collected a blank trophy, and Keith did give us a pretty fun foot in mouth (or foot to mouth) vollleyball kicking moment (thanks Keith!). So, you win some... you lose more.

(from Craig) From it's obstructed view baby Schlichting could see that things were not so good in the first game. Let's face it... we played like donkeys. 612! faced a team that they should pulled out a can on, but somehow things weren't clicking. Feeling the pressure, Suki stepped to the plate and delivered a serving onslaught that didn't seem to end. From that point on we were on auto pilot for game two and victory was ours. Game three had many flavors, and after a pretty good comeback, 612! ended the match convincingly with the opponent not giving us the chance to pound it down. Outback? Don Pablo's? Well we know how this works... what do the ladies want? Pablo's it is. Testing our week old waitress, K-dawg and Sukilicious went the route of all you can eat enchiladas. The second challenge of the evening was on... If Suki can eat 6 enchies, plus one bite, Craig pays for two meals. Well, Suki did his part, as did Keith, even though both of them set the scene as if they were so full from previous meals that didn't know if they could finish three. A few items of advice... don't wear a sports watch on the first date, don't try to ask for someone's hand in marriage when you have communicable diseases, watch your corn bread when Nat's in the house, and when all else fails get me that other jar of hot sauce. Let's Spice it up next week!

Yeah, I was a little slow on this recap. Sorry. I don't remember much... but do remember some discussions around being tired, eating too much cookie, and having one of the worst games of our lives (game two, I believe). 'Bout time we step up our focus and game and have some fun! Thanks to Kara for being a super sub!

That Just Happened
We finally brought some good energy (at times, maybe too much energy?). Granted, we still lost a game we should have won, but all together it felt a world's different than our last few weeks. All together... a pretty good night... even despite Keith's volleyball theft misdemeanor. I have an idea. Next week, I'm going to hit every set as hard as I can. What a concept!

Primed 2 Play
Well, we continued our trend of taking two our of three from an opponent we probably could have (should have?) swept. Some ugly serving and inconsistent runs... but also some pretty great set, hits and hustle. And who know... maybe we'll see more recap from Natalie!

We played that team we really dislike (because they're good) and played them better (we even won one). For reference, they're the team with the completely uninterested teenage, pouty blonde who wear a nighty to the game. Nonetheless, we played well. Ran off to Granite City for dinner (never again). Those are the highlights. I'll keep it short... I assume Natalie will add more...

(from Craig) With Pat and Nat out of town, we were fortunate to acquire the services of Tim and Jalynn. Jalynn got an early start, thinking our game was at 6:30, and Tim had a scare from Pat when he asked "How did it go?" earlier in the day. The parking lot was jam packed, but I can say they didn't come to see us. As expected we had a few early communication snafu's. We minimized the service errors and played just well enough to win the first few games, and dominated the last game. This was more due to their sloppy play, but nonetheless a victory. We had some good looking plays and some not so good, and to come away with three victories was certainly just what we needed. Thanks to the subs, and see the rest of you next week for the final match of the season (including photo hunt, ink jet, and monkey chug of course).

Spikers

Well, our somewhat odd season of volleyball has come to an end. Even though we saw our ranks fall to the middle of the pack as a gaggle of young teams came onto the scene... we still played some great volleyball, had some beautiful plays, and kicked some serious Photo Hunt ass (is that a penis?) in the process. Great season to all! Hopefully see you this summer for some giant cookies and a bit of pickup.

(from Tony J., the biggest sports fan in Hatti's class. He may not have had all the facts straight, but...well...here it is... and remember, he's 9)

Team 612 did not play there very best game just very sloppy. But then in the last two games they stepped it up a notch and nobody could stop Keiths standing hit and Hatti’s string of wicked serves. But Craig did not have his lucky bunny. So he did not have a very good game .It doesn’t look like Craig is going to get a scholarship now.
