From Bic
That was such a great way to end the night. Here are moments that make smile when I look back:
· Running down the
field in the beautiful night to high five one of you after an amazing touchdown
or interception. That was exhilarating!
· Us producing after jibber-jabber
· Billy getting serious about Keith needing a breather, and the rest
of us agreeing vigorously.
· Keithys celebrations
· And of course, Craigs Genius thought.
It feels so good when things
click (i.e., when we pass, catch, and play D (ahem) the way we know how!). Go
612! Genius.
From Keith
Great job to everyone last night. It was great to see that we still got it!!!
I will remember:
· Salty
dog having the QB throwing on the running and never having a chance to get comfortable
in the pocket.
· Billy's
amazing grab while his defender was grabbing his arm and trying to rip it off.
That was great concentration Billy!!!
· Good old Craig having the plays all drawn up before we even got back
into the huddle and hardly able to call them out since he was breathing so hard.
By the way, that is my role on the team to be huffing and puffing ;-)
All and all, great second
game last night. We finally all came together and played as a team. Great defense,
great offense and great attitude.

Thanks guys - good recap!
I have goosebumps. Last night was awesome. I couldn't sleep when I got home.
In all honesty, I had been a little down on football this spring. (Well, down
on the football games. It's always
great to catch up with you guys and grab food afterward even when we stink it
up on the field.)
Last night's win and the great playing by everyone brought back the old feelings of competitiveness and team spirit and true enjoyment. I didn't realize how much I missed those feelings!!! Obviously, I'm looking forward to my trip but I really wish I could be there next week with those of you who get to play. I'll be thinking of you guys and I'll be sure to wear my 612! t-shirt next Thursday night.
I was pleasantly surprised when I asked after their score and it was 28-18. Then when we scored again and it was 35-18 (not 37 - we did all 1 point conversions) it was super sweet.
I love these highlights! I've been thinking of the "All Day" dance all day!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks Keith!
From Craig
The first game last night I returned to my old form and I was really pissed at everything. One time.... after one of the long balls popped out, I pulled a Stephy and said Jesus F$#! so loud the girl that was rushing me thought I was nuts.
Well thankfully memories of that game are not worth keeping.
I haven't felt this good
about our overall team performance ever. There are games where some step up
and the rest of us do no, but that game last night was truly awesome. We made
every play look easy. We started
out having to listen to their shit, and we slowly transformed there thoughts
and playing ability into total disappointment. They were beat bad enough that
they even pulled out the heart felt congratulations and good luck comments.
This is the type of team that we saw early in the season and got intimidated.
Their quickness, their color selection, the strength of their girls and their
route running ability could have all been reasons for us to get down and roll
over. But no f-ing way are we going to get dissed, over cheered, or stepped
on. You play man against us and you will learn like every other team, that a
poor decision was made. I don't care what happens the rest of the season, I
left last night saying this is the reason I play the game. We each have it in
us to play the way we did last night, but we certainly weren't thinking we could
after the first game. I can see the plays in my mind the exact way they happened,
and I completely think we were in a zone. I don't remember feeling winded, but
each one of you mentioned that I was gasping as plays were flying. I'm proud
of every one of you for making me look unstoppable, because that is how I felt
when we left that field.

I loved that Craig was totally awesome with his passes, runs and play-calling throughout the game! He made us all look good on O. How glad am I that I get to catch his passes versus trying to defend them?
I loved that Salty didn't give their QB a second to set his feet (the QB was constantly scrambling with his back to his receivers), always gave him a bit extra on his tag, and when bumped... took two steps and BUMPED back. He made us all look good on D.
I loved that Steph started the game with spunk ("just run faster") and then backed it up by continually schooling her girl in, out, short, deep... and most importantly, in the endzone.
I loved that Keith backed up the talk ("all day!") in one drive that included a sweet diving sideline catch, a TD on a broken play (and some two-step dance celebration), and the extra point taking "that little bitch" one more time.
I loved that Billy streaked across the field and made an amazing TD catch with one of their opponents draped on his arm before being tackled. That was our first drive with the "new" ball and basically said to them that we'll shred your D with whatever equipment your bitching forces us to use. That's when I actually thought "we could win this game".
I loved that Bic adapted her style mid game and in the second half beautifully defended the only play our opponents thought they had on us. After that, they knew they were beat.
I loved that I was a total poo between games ("we're not good", "why doesn't anything work?", "let's quit these leagues", "we're going to get killed!") only to be part of one of our best games in memory. It was fun to play and as much fun to watch!
One more thing... big thanks to Billy for actually confidently knowing the score (37-18... you sure?) even when doubly doubted by both Craig and I!

Finally had a chance to
check my email as I was out of the office on Friday. What a great recap! Awesome!
I love how we all still get so worked up over this stuff even though we have
been playing for a few years now. I don't have much to add, as the good stuff
was already mentioned. One snipet of the game that stands out in my mind was
the first set of drives. If I remember right (which I seldom do) we started
on defense and they drove down to our goaline and we stopped them cold. We got
the ball at like the 2 yard line and on the first play Craiggy threw on a wire
to Stepphy, who almost made the tough, runing catch that she may have taken
all the way. I remember Craiggy looking over at me on the sidelines and I could
see the veins popping out of his head in frustration. I thought "here we
go, this is not good..." Then on the next play, from the back of the endzone
Craiggy let loose a bomb that Sukhi hauled in for a sweet score. In my opinion
that set the tone for the entire game. They knew at that point that we meant
business (well, all of you anyway as I spent most of that game on the sideline
nursing my sore wheel).
Thanks for a truely awsome game. That was so much fun!
