Just like your first prom... only much, much better! Tonight We're Gonna Party Like It's 1989!

The Awesome 80's Prom (www.awesome80sprom.com) at Hennepin Stages (Hey City Theater) in Minneapolis is running Fridays and Saturdays in July and August at 8:00 (pre-show at 7:30). It's partially a show and the rest 80's High School Prom/Dance. The characters spend the majority of the time off the stage with the audience/classmates on the dance floor. It’s best with a group and perhaps a drink prior (there’s a cash bar during the show as well). The majority of the audience sports old prom/bridesmaid dresses and Rag Stock quality tuxes. You’re strongly encouraged to dress the part (and the AquaNet is on me!).

BONUS: The cast has a $20 “Friends and Family" price for the cast. This is for a General Admission ticket (regularly priced at $40). When buying your tickets at the box office, you will need to mention this offer and the full name of the cast member who sent this to you. It is that easy!

The Awesome 80s Prom is a brand new blast-from-the-past party in the style of Tony 'n Tina's Wedding set at Wanaget High's Senior Prom... in 1989! All your favorite characters from your favorite '80s movies are at THE PROM, from the Captain of the Football Team to the Asian Exchange Student, from the Geek to the hottie Head Cheerleader, and they're all competing for Prom King and Queen. And just like on "American Idol", the audience decides who wins, all while moonwalking to retro hits like "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun" and "Wake Me Up Before You Go Go!" Come "Back In Time", to quote a Huey Lewis tune, and join the breakdance circle or just sit back and watch the '80s drama unfold. Come on, you know you have a Members Only jacket somewhere... and if you're lucky, you'll even get to dance with a cheerleader. The Awesome 80s Prom is the ideal place for your Bachelorette Party, Sweet 16 Party, Class Reunion, or Anniversary. The Awesome 80s Prom. This time you don't have a curfew. http://www.awesome80sprom.com/

Pat Sukhum (FEUNG SCHWEY, THE ASIAN EXCHANGE STUDENT) when asked about the awesome opportunity to be a part of the show, simply responded "it makes a hard man more humbled than one night in Bangkok". Pat's credits include improv at ComedySportz, public speaking for Big Brothers Big Sisters, and the glamorous world of mock trial in eleventh grade. He thanks Ken and Fred for the opportunity, Steph and Pogi for all their help, his super-supportive mom, dad, and sis for showing him that crazy-fun just runs in the family, and his amazing friends for always being so impervious.
